Knitting

I have tried to learn to knit several time. Apparently it wasn't my time yet, but now I just picked it up and it almost came naturally. I bought a kit to learn the last time and they were insane (whoever put it together). They had put very hard to work yarn in the kit and I think that is why it was so hard for me. Now I have a scarf for my son that is almost finished in just a short time.

Yay!!! Now for mastering the art. I would love to learn this,

But I think I will do a matching hat and gloves first. We'll see.

Some past projects

A while back my son and I went to "help" Dad cut wood. We picked up acorns instead. We were supposed to take them to preschool, but I had other ideas. (of course I left him enough to take) We had fun glueing the "hats" back on and stuck them in a vase with a few votive candles.

This one was a little harder. First of all I made my own mod podge glaze, which is just Elmer's glue and water. It looks like frosted glass when you are all done. I used a foam brush to spread it all over the jar, then I put leaves on it, and smoothed it out with a layer of glue on top of the leaves. I will say that the maple leaves worked the best. I think it was because they were still really moist and they laid the flattest. The other leaves I could not get to stay down. I just walked away and it looks ok.

The first Post

This is my first post on my new blog. I chose to start blogging because I have been doing a lot of projects lately and I wanted to share some of them. I get a lot of inspiration from other bloggers, so I just want to give back. I also have gotten a lot of inspiration from Pinterest also. I am addicted to it. I could sit up for hours browsing through things. If you have never heard of it, you should check it out. My latest project was a trash bag for the car of course I found it on pinterest, but I tweaked it a little.

Obviously my car is in desperate need of a trash receptacle.

I made it out of a pair of overalls and instead of boning I used a piece of edging that came off a piece of cheap laminate furniture. You can find the tutorial here. It took me about thirty minutes to create. Have fun and be inspired.
